Groups at Carr

United Methodist Women usually meets the first Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Our U.M.W. focuses on fellowship and supporting various United Methodist missions.

The Carr United Methodist Women strive to fulfill U.M.W.'s purpose: "to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church."

United Methodist Men support Carr in various ways, especially at Homecoming in October.

Chancel Choir practices on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at one of our member's homes. Everyone is welcome to join the choir! Our choir director is Nancy Dixon.

XYZ (Xtra Years of Zest) is our seniors' group at Carr. XYZ meets monthly, either for a covered-dish lunch with a program, or for a road trip.

Sunday School class *NEW!* will meet following our 1:30 p.m. worship service. Pastor Cheryl will teach a study on the Gospels. All are welcome!

Bible study

On Tuesday mornings from 10:15 a.m. - noon, we have a vibrant group that meets at Croasdaile Retirement Home to include one of our shut-in members. This group currently is studying the 23rd Psalm.

Our Thursday morning Bible study is held at the home of our members from 10-11 a.m. We are reading books of the Bible, discussing each paragraph of each book as we come to it.  When we read the Bible as a whole (rather than picking out individual verses to read and study, as many Bible studies do), we discover that God challenges us in unexpected ways. Often, Jesus and the prophets say hard things that don't get talked about much in church! We grapple with it all. We currently are studying selected books of the Old Testament.
